Preparation Before Use: Skin and Electrode Check
Cleanse Skin: Wash the treatment area with warm water and neutral soap to remove oil, sweat, or residual ointment. If using alcohol for disinfection, wait for it to completely evaporate before applying the electrodes to avoid chemical irritation.
Check Skin Condition: Do not use on broken, infected, eczema-prone, or allergic areas. Prioritize areas with abundant muscle (such as thighs and upper arms), avoiding bony prominences to improve conductivity.
Remove Hair: Dense hair can affect adhesion; it is recommended to shave some hair to prevent concentrated current and stinging.
Check Electrodes: Confirm that the conductive gel is not dried out, discolored, or cracked; the packaging is intact; and the interface is compatible with the therapy device. Disposable electrodes should not be reused, even if they appear intact, as this may lead to uneven conductivity.
Correctly Apply Electrode Patches: Apply the electrodes immediately after removing the protective film to prevent the gel from drying out in the air.
Precise Positioning: Select the location based on the treatment objective-around the pain area, along nerve pathways, at muscle movement points, or at specific acupoints (such as the Jianjing acupoint).
Application Technique: Gently press from the center outwards, removing air bubbles and ensuring full contact without any lifting edges.
Device Connection and Parameter Settings
Connect Before Powering On: Insert the electrode wires into the corresponding interface of the physiotherapy device, ensuring a secure connection before turning on the power. Never power on the device before applying the electrodes or plug and unplug it while it is powered on, to prevent the risk of electric shock.
Current Adjustment Principle: Start with the lowest intensity and slowly increase it until a slight tingling sensation or mild muscle contraction is felt. Avoid pursuing strong stimulation; high current can easily cause burns.
Select Treatment Mode: Select according to the doctor's instructions or the instruction manual (e.g., TENS analgesia, NMES muscle contraction promotion).
