Ultrasound gels are mainly divided into two categories: medical and cosmetic. Each category is further subdivided according to its use, ingredients, and management standards, suitable for different scenarios.

 

1. Medical Ultrasound Coupling Agents
Used for clinical ultrasound diagnosis to ensure clear and safe imaging. They are divided into three categories according to microbial control standards:

Non-sterile (Class I): Suitable for routine examinations of intact skin (such as abdominal ultrasound), requiring a total bacterial count ≤100 cfu/g and no detectable pathogens.

Sterile (Class II): Used for wound, mucosa, puncture, or neonatal examinations, requiring sterility standards to prevent infection risks.

Contains Disinfectant: Also has bactericidal function, suitable for invasive procedures, such as intracavitary ultrasound examinations.

 

2. Cosmetic Ultrasound Infusion Gels
Used with home beauty devices to enhance the absorption of skincare ingredients and energy conduction. Common types include:

Basic Conductive Gel: Primarily composed of water-based polymer gels to ensure smooth ultrasound transmission, such as carbomer and glycerin systems.

Efficacy-Enhanced Formula: Contains hyaluronic acid, collagen, ceramides, and other ingredients to achieve skincare functions such as moisturizing, firming, and repairing.

Special Formula: Optimized for radio frequency and microcurrent devices, enhancing conductivity and thermal stability to improve treatment efficiency.

All qualified products meet safety standards for pH neutrality, non-irritation, and easy washing. It is recommended to use within three months of opening to ensure optimal performance.
